Blessings Made In Oklahoma and Blessings Ministries Inc

            Welcome to Blessings Made In Oklahoma’s site.  Our physical home has been in “Ye Olde Lumber Yard” Building at 124 W. Cleveland, Guthrie, Oklahoma.

 When BLESSINGS opened in the fall of 2004, it carried many Made In Oklahoma items. Some of theses were- Bedre gourmet chocolates, Cutters Cross salsas and rubs, Prairie Gypsies’ gourmet jellies and jams and marinade, Marie Rae’ salsas, chips and guacamole mix, Lazy J Gourmet dips, soups, and mixes, along with Sweet Spirit and Albert’s Gourmet BBQ sauces. And of course we carried Frankoma Pottery.

We had natural Oklahoma made lye soaps, some with goat’s milk but all were made with the same care as Grandma used when making her soap; the soap that lacked today’s ingredients which cause allergies. The Shop has sold candles from various makers of Oklahoma candles. Blessings was especially known for custom made, Made In Oklahoma Gift baskets and boxes. These baskets and boxes made in the shape of our State really were made in Oklahoma, and we filled them with the above-mentioned items. They were as pretty and as delicious, as can be.

            For the Cowboy customer, Blessings carried Vintage embroidered shirts by Rockmount Ranch Wear and Ely, along with OK made MoBetta shirts. Roy Roger, John Wayne and other Rochmount numbered edition silk ties were available next to Rockmount cowboy hats.

            Children were included in Blessings gift item section with various Gund dolls for a wide age range. And, then there were the Barn Yard animals, which made their own sound when pressed.  Our “Made in Oklahoma” product was “Baby’s” wooden rocking horse bank, made by Uncle Bill.

              Looking for a Religious gift was easy. There were Joyce Meyer tapes for personal spiritual growth, various small books by known authors and many gift items, along with cards by Day Spring.  We had unusual styles of sterling silver crosses. Our walls were made beautiful with artists’ renderings in woven tapestries that included Biblical passages, woven by Manual Woodworkers and Weavers.

From J & J Woodshop, Kingfisher, OK, we sold intricately laser carved wooden crosses in various sizes, some for hanging others as a magnet.

That was our Beginning.

 But change is destined. In 2007, part of the Shop area was turned over to a new Housing Ministry—Blessings Ministries Inc., for their use. At first donated items were sold with the profits given to the Ministry. Now we use the space only to offer Christian Family Counseling at no charge.
